    Been A While

Thursday, May 22, 2008, 11:36 AM EST [General]

Hello everyone, it's been a while but we have had lots going on. We adopted our foster children (or is that ex-foster children now!) on 12-07-07 and we have been non-stop ever since.

Bowling went well again this season as I led the house once again in average and had an 826 series in March. Although we finished second both halves this year and we were not able to succesfully defend our title from last year all in all it was a good season.

I hope all is well with everyone out there!

    Winter Season 2007-2008

Monday, October 8, 2007, 11:27 AM EST [General]

We have started our winter of course and I will get everyone caught up as soon as possible.

Life in so many other genres has been so busy that I have not had the time to blog here and I miss all the friends I have made.

I do not miss however the idiot that keeps attacking me every time I write a blog and who most recently threatened to walk up to me in the bowling center and punch me in the mouth.

To that I say bring it and I hope your insurance is paid up. I am not sure if he knows that I am 5'10 and 235 pounds and straight from the streets of Philly. It would be my pleasure to put someone on their back right now after all I have been through since July.

I promised myself I would not write about this here but feel a need to vent. My wife and I are pre-adoptive foster parents of a biological brother and sister that have been in our home for close to four years now. They are our heart and soul. The littel girl came to us with a plethora of problems and had been in eight foster homes prior to coming to ours at the age of 3-1/2". I requested services from Bucks County Children and Youth and was refused. I fought them over it until we got the child help. However it came with a price because don't ever and I mean ever tell a social worker they are wrong. There is a supervisor by the name of Beverly Wisloski that is a vengeful spiteful sea hag and she found a way by telling half stories in court to have the children removed on 07-31-2007. We hired an attorney and had them placed back in our home on 08-02-2007. Since then I have been building a case against the agency as well as working with the powers that be in our state capital to make sure this never happens again to another child. I don't understand how people with a little bit of power can think they are God. We have since ourselves had documentation from clinical psychologists and experts on family behavior to ensure that we are who we are as far as good parents. These children thrive in academics as well as sports. both being all-stars in several sports as well as an MVP.

So that is where the bulk of my time is being spent and I miss you all very much.

League Champions & Triple Crown Winner

Thursday, August 23, 2007, 03:46 PM EST [General]

Great night in the Kernan household. While I was bowling in a roll off for our summer league title my son was being named the starting quarterback for his team after being named starting middle linebacker the night before. Gonna be strange seeing a #57 at QB!

Anyway it was a blood bath last night. A team that likes to talk a lot one point behind us in a four point system and a loud mouth with half the games I had in with a little more than a pin over me in average.

One of our guys got stuck in New York City and couldn't make it so we had to go on with a blind. First game we won by 24 pins with my doubling in the tenth to win. That game I shot 237 (averaging 216.9 before the evening). Our supposed league leader shot 195 (his average was 218.0 before the evening). I was now within tenths of a point of passing this loud mouth clown and we needed one more point to put the league away. As usual on wood the pair started to go into tranisition on the second game and I ended up shooting 211. My friend shot a 183. Can you say new leader in the clubhouse? We won the game by 40 and salted the league away. Loud mouth tells me he can still catch me so I threw the front 6 and tore his heart out and showed it to him. I finished that game with 247 (I'll post the scores off my Frames program when I get home - blogging from the office right now).

At the beginning of the night my maturity definitely took over as the talk began as soon as I walked into the door. A younger BK would have been getting pissed off and talking back. I simply took my ball out, put it on the rack and said I would do my talking up there while pointing to the approach.

God it feels good to be back over the last 2 years! Even got invited to bowl in New Mexico with the association team next year.

Wednesday 08-22-2007 Get Your Popcorn Ready!

Tuesday, August 21, 2007, 09:21 AM EST [General]

Tomorrow night can't come fast enough.

After I take we are done football practice tonight I will be on my way for a few games of practice tonight to get my swing loose and in line.

Tomorrow we finish the season against a team full of windbags that like to talk trash from the #2 position. I don't get it how you talk from looking up at first place but so be it.

I am not going to say a word tomorrow night but let Columbia 300 do the talking for me. I said my peace last week. When approached by one of the loud mouths I simply asked if he would like to put all his prize money up against mine tomorrow night and that elicited no response. I guess some people don't know how to put their money where their mouth is.

The other obnoxious loud mouth has 15 games in against my 30 and is ties with me for high average. What a joke that is!!! How can you talk trash when you show up for less than half a season (he missed the first game last Wednesday).

I always say the cream rises to the top and we'll see tomorrow.

    Think I'm a bit stoked?

By the way, I will get last weeks scores posted the minute I can get to my home computer, stay tuned (I think I shot something like 652).

    My Brief Absence

Monday, August 20, 2007, 11:37 AM EST [General]

I just want to make sure all my friends here on bowlspace understand that I had some personal things weighing very heavy on me and needed to take a break from everything in my everyday life and focus on family affairs and ensuring that my foster children were secure and safe in my home.

It is too long a story and not one that I want to share here but everything is coming out the way it should and I have my family back and we are on track for adoption and everyone is happy.

Therefore I am back and ready to talk about the greatest participation sport in the world.

Let's all put up big numbers!!!
